Nexicon is seeking experienced and highly motivated INFORMATION SECURITY ENGINEER at our corporate headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Responsibilities:
The Information Security Engineer monitors all RSM enterprise networks and
applications to identify security deficiencies and then remediate, or
consults on appropriate remediation. This position also leads the
development of a security architecture in line with the overall information
technology (IT) strategy, business objectives and the regulatory
environment. Successful candidates must have strong customer service skills,
including the ability to work with technical and non-technical users at all
levels of the organization. This role requires solid verbal and written
communication skills, good negotiating skills, and the ability to manage
multiple priorities successfully.
In addition, the Information Security Engineer is responsible for:

Analyzing and evaluating IT security risks and controls for infrastructure |

Providing IT risk reduction recommendations. |
| • |
Ensuring that new technical and application tools incorporate appropriate security controls. |

Participating in IT strategy planning. |
Areas of Job Knowledge for this position include, but are not limited to:

Applied knowledge of information security principles and industry practices. |
| • |
Applied knowledge of security assessment tools. |
| • |
Applied knowledge of WAN/LAN technologies: TCP/IP, IPSEC, VPN, PROXY, DHCP, DNS, WINS, SMTP, SSL. |
| • |
Good understanding of Cisco network equipment: routers, switches, firewall, VPN concentrator. |
| • |
Familiarity with IDS/IPS and other security mechanisms. |
A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years experience working within an
Information Technology, Information Systems or an Information Security role
is required. Applicants must also be proficient with network assessment &
testing tools, and have a CISSP or GIAC designation, or the willingness to
obtain within the near future.
This position reports to the Director of Information Risk Management, with a
travel requirement of approximately 20 - 25%. |
