Nexicon was founded in 1999 during the Internet boom, where it has become a vital part of the E-commerce industry. The company started from zero and grew to a $5,000,000 a year enterprise within a couple of years. Nexicon's philosophy has always been to live by the business fundamentals of efficiency and cost management. The company saw the Internet as a way to reach a nation-wide audience easily and with minimal cost. We were able to use technology to create a small, yet efficient, operation that serviced a large clientele. Computers were used to automate daily processes and to create an efficient organization with a high rate of customer retention. Our management was acutely aware that the potential point of failure was the point of human contact.
In June of 2003 the company sold that division, and in November of 2003 acquired Orion Security Services Inc. (OSSI). In alignment with the company's core values of efficiency and cost management, OSSI provided a network security solution built on those exact principles. Counter to the conventional wisdom of using several devices provided by several vendors to cover all the holes in network security, the company's solution was to put all these devices into one box. This created a highly efficient solution with a smaller foot print with greater cost effectiveness.
In November of 2004 the company acquired Pluto Communications International AS (Pluto). In alignment with the company's philosophy, Pluto offered a billing and operational support solution (OSS) for telecom billing. Much like network security traditional billing, OSS systems are a bundle of devices provided by several different vendors to create a complete solution. The company provides a solution that incorporates all the functions of the separate vendors in a completely integrated suite of software solutions. Due to the software platform upon which the system runs, the system is able to provide unrivaled scalability, speed and low cost of entry.
The Company has sold and delivered Network Security Systems to the Department of Defense through Northroup Grumman; Surveillance Systems to the US Government; Billing, OSS services and custom development to Telecom, as well as, Voice-over IP operators, credit card processors, utilities and ISPs.
