Nexicon delivers next-generation anti-piracy, intellectual property security, business intelligence, and network security products and solutions to many industries. The company helps media-owning clients increase profitability by recovering revenues lost to online piracy, while helping both government and private organizations secure and gather network information.
Innovation
If a single word was to describe what goes on each day at Nexicon in our Los Angeles headquarters and at development sites around the globe it would be innovation. Nexicon is committed and driven to provide its clients across industries with solutions to problems driven by its MARC platform that can be found nowhere else. The company’s product suite enables clients in both the private and public sector, around the world to increase revenues, reduce costs, reduce risk, and gain insight that can be found nowhere else.
new beginnings
Nexicon’s history stretches back to 2003 when Nexicon founder and CTO Tommy Stiansen designed and developed a telephone billing system, named Charon that would be purchased and implemented by several Norwegian phone companies. In total, the product served more than 1,000,000 subscribers. When Stiansen sold Charon in 2005, he began re-engineering the software to monitor Internet traffic instead of phone traffic for billing purposes. By combining his unique computer hacking skills perfected in the late '90s with the re-engineered Internet monitoring software, Stiansen developed a product suited to help companies secure their networks -- all while legally monitor Internet traffic for wrongdoing.
connection
It was at this time that what would eventually be known as MARC began to take shape. While developing the new solution, Stiansen was introduced to Nexicon CEO Richard Urrea, an entrepreneur who had substantial experience in start-up companies. In 2005, Richard’s company purchased the technology, and Nexicon was born. Stiansen then spent three years building and enhancing what would become known as the MARC Technology Platform, and in late 2007, the company began pilot-testing its flagship product, GetAmnesty.
the future
Digital Media protection and insight is only one aspect of what MARC will do for the world.
